I think of a phrase that hit me weeks ago: I want to be filled with purpose to the point of pregnancy.

Let me explain it… because that sounds weird as hell.

My sister has been pregnant this year and I have experienced the multitudes of feelings that have come with that. There was one week in particular that I kept noticing pregnant women everywhere I went.

Their glow.

Their intentioned bodies.

Their purpose.

Have you been called an intimidating woman?

I have. ALL the time.

This always blew my mind and I just brushed it off: How could anyone be intimidated by me, when I’m terrified of literally everything and everyone. (I know I’ve mentioned general anxiety disorder here before ;))

Have you ever been asked to hang a $40,000 painting in the foyer of a gallery about 13 feet up?

I have.

Have you ever been the one that’s supposed to put your hands on a $40,000 painting? HAHA.

I was young. I was a student and the Assistant to the Director of the gallery. And I was terrified.

Years ago, a friend asked me, “What do you admire so much in others that it borderlines envy in you?”

I like to use this question as a barometer now for what I’m really interested in.

Lately it’s been nature installations.

So I want to share some inspiration with you today, because seeing the wild and wonderful ways that others all over the world are choosing to make and create is inspiring—no matter what your making looks like right now.

I get it. I do.

A full-blown disclaimer here: I’m not a gear head… gear is not an obsession of mine.

I simply love knowing what’s the best in the industry for the purpose it needs to serve.

I then rely on that information until technology or updates shift the playing field.

But that’s good news for you… because you know what I’m not going to do… give you a massive list of options on what to buy.

I like to keep it simple. I also don’t currently have any affiliations with any brands… so more good news for you: this is just the gear I love.

Marketing looks different in our current season. I’m sure you’ve seen it/felt it, but we’re not in the pre-covid, people-are-everywhere-and-READY-to-spend-big-money season any longer. 

There was a day when we could create a single post on Instagram and get a number of new email list sign ups. There was a day when we could create a website, spread it to five of our aligned friends, and get some new clients. 

But, I’m sorry, my friend… today is not that day. (Am I alone in this?!)

If there’s something I could get tattooed on my brain it would be 1) that I’m enough and completely unrelated (joke) 2) a reminder that everyone’s winging it.
